The story behind the Creative Lunch Club
Hi, my name is Klaus, and I'm the founder of the Creative Lunch Club. Before starting this community I've been working in the creative industries as a social media marketer for over ten years.
Working in the creative industries gave me the chance to meet and work with many inspiring people. Some of them have even become good friends.
Meeting other creatives is not only one of the best parts of the job, but also crucial for your creative career. The more people you know, the easier it is to find new jobs and land new projects.
A few years ago, the idea of meeting other creatives from my city over lunch and getting to know them better popped into my head. So I thought about an easy way to make this happen, et voilà the Creative Lunch Club was born. It has taken me some time to bring the idea to life, but here it is.
This platform should be an easy, casual and pleasant way to meet new people working in similar fields to yours. Maybe even some new projects, collaborations or friendships will arise.
With the Creative Lunch Club, I also want to give young creatives a chance to meet people with many years of experience in the creative industries and ask them questions about their work, but also share their own ideas to make it an enriching experience for both of you.
If you sign up for the Creative Lunch Club, you will be matched with two other creatives once a month. Then the three of you set up a place and a time to have lunch together, easy as that.
Besides our matching system, there are also bigger meetups hosted by members of our community. Another great way to meet even more creatives.
At lunch, you can talk about your work and projects, but also what inspires you and how you love spending your time. There are no rules besides being friendly and respectful, and remember, this shouldn't be a sales pitch or job interview.
What you do after lunch is up to you. Exchange numbers, connect on Instagram, start a project together or never see each other again.
