Meetups for Graphic Designers and other creatives

Creative Lunch Club meetups are lunches, coffees and picnics where graphic designers sit down with illustrators, photographers, copywriters and other creatives. Members host them in cities around the world, and anyone can see what is coming up below.

One of the best things I've done since moving to Stockholm has been joining the Creative Lunch Club, a community I first discovered back in Australia and was so happy to find here too! These catchups have been such a great way to connect with other creatives, share stories and experiences, and feel part of the design community here. I've met some incredibly talented and kind people through these catch-ups, and it's helped me explore more of Stockholm too!

Why graphic designers come

Meet more people in one go

Your monthly lunch match is three people. A meetup puts you at a table with a whole group of designers and other creatives, so you leave with more new contacts in one afternoon.

See who is behind the work in your city

The posters, packaging and brand identities you walk past every day were made by someone. At a meetup you find out who, and what they are working on next.

An easy reason to leave the studio

Someone else has picked the place and the time. You just show up, order something and talk. No name tags, no pitching.

When I found about the Creative Lunch Club I immediately thought I had to join. I live for design communities but so rarely we get opportunities to have these small group gatherings, so lunch feels like the ideal excuse to meet other creatives. Had the first one the other day and yep, it was a great experience and can't wait for the next.

Creative Lunch Club has been an invaluable part of my creative journey in Helsinki and beyond. Alongside introducing me to incredible people, the conversations and moments shared through the network have given me fresh perspectives, much-needed respites, lasting friendships, and the encouragement to persist through the hurdles of freelancing!

Questions about meetups

Are the meetups only for graphic designers?

No. Meetups are open to all creative professionals: illustrators, photographers, copywriters, developers, art directors and more. The mix is a big part of why people come.

Do I need to be a member?

For most meetups, yes. They are free for members and you book them on the meetup page. Some meetups, such as many picnics, are open to everyone, and non-members can join with a ticket or a free RSVP.

What does it cost?

Most meetups are free for members. Membership costs 7.50 € per month, or 15 € for three months (plus VAT), and also includes a monthly lunch with two other creatives in your city. Meetups open to non-members show their ticket price on the meetup page. Food and drinks are usually paid at the venue.

How do I sign up for a meetup?

Pick a meetup from the list of upcoming meetups, open it and reserve your seat. You get a confirmation email and a reminder about two days before. If a free meetup is full, you can join the waitlist, and we email you when a seat opens up.

Can I host a meetup in my city?

Yes. Members can host a meetup from the member area: choose a format, a place and a date at least a week ahead, and we tell the creatives in your city about it. Read more about becoming a host.

What if there is no meetup in my city yet?

Host the first one, or join anyway: every month we match you with two other creatives from your city for lunch, in over 100 cities.
